Soojung Jeon, a native of South Korea, is a teacher, pianist and arranger. She has taught students in a wide range of ages and levels for over 14 years. She performs actively in solo and chamber recitals. In addition, she arranges and orchestrates for the local church and youth orchestra. Dr. Jeon is currently a member of the Dunamis piano duo.
Dr. Jeon recently graduated with her doctoral piano performance degree at the University of Georgia where she studied with Dr. Martha Thomas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in composition from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. She earned her first master’s degree in Music Education from Auburn University and received her second master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Georgia. Dr. Jeon was awarded a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at UGA, working as a choral accompanist, a class piano teacher, and was the head instructor of the Keyboard Kids group piano classes.
In 2012, Dr. Jeon published music of her own arrangement of hymn and Contemporary Christian Music as well as CD recording in collaboration with violinist Ji Kyung Moon. They have performed concerts on the program throughout Korea.
Soojung Jeon has presented at the state conferences and national symposium. She also has been invited to teach at music camps at various venues where she taught piano lessons, theory and composition classes. Her professional affiliations include the Music Teachers National Association, the Georgia Music Teachers Association, National Association for Music Educator, and Georgia Music Educators Association.
